What Could Your Council Do With £500?

Dear Clerk / Council Member,
What could your council do with £500?
Whether it’s bringing residents together, improving access to support or helping you better understand local needs.
We’re delighted to launch the Cost of Living Crisis Project Small Grants Scheme, offering fixed grants of £500 to Community and Town Councils with an annual income of £25,000 or less that have not previously delivered cost-of-living support activities.
“This funding is designed to help councils take that first step, it has been designed deliberately that way. We know that for a smaller council, finding even a modest amount of funding can be the very thing that stops a good idea getting off the ground.”

“Councils do not need large budgets or complex projects to make a difference. Sometimes the most meaningful initiatives start with a simple idea and a small amount of funding.”
For many councils, understanding local needs is the first step. That’s why the grant can also be used to engage with residents through surveys, consultation events or community conversations that help shape future activities.
