National Awards Conference – 30 April 2025
One Voice Wales held its annual National Awards Conference on Wednesday 30 April 2025 at Hafod a Hendre, Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, LD2 3SY. These awards are an opportunity for each Council to showcase the services it provides for its community, and an opportunity for Councillors, Clerks and Council staff to receive the recognition they deserve.
We are extremely grateful for the support and enthusiasm of this year’s Main Sponsors: Unity Trust Bank.

All the submitted entries were used as an evidence base to inform Welsh Government, Unitary Authorities, the Third Sector and other key partners of the good work Councils are doing in their communities across Wales and how they can possibly support the work of the local council sector in the future.
An independent panel made up from national representative bodies undertook the assessment the record number of entries this year. Shortlisted Councils for each category were invited to take part in showcasing their Council’s initiative during the Conference.
During the Awards Ceremony, the winners and runners-up were presented with their awards and certificates. One Voice Wales also publish a post-event report to be shared with local Councils and stakeholder organisations throughout Wales.

Testimonials
I would like to thank you for the Conference yesterday, we all enjoyed ourselves, and each of us learned something new. Really, the awards were an eye opener for us.
Nia Owen-Midwood,
I was full of ideas afterwards. The event has been very useful for us. Who would have thought that
Buan Community Council, which is an awfully small Council,
would have won the awards yesterday….
